Which actually is exciting and something to enjoy while it lasts, because in 3 months time we will know about everything! In light of the upcoming tour we have gone back in time and looked at what U2’s previous tour opening nights can tell us. We also looked at U2’s history of “song snippets” and found some very interesting stuff! Read along.
U2’s tour opening nights in perspective
Opening nights of a tour are more special than any other show of a tour, for the band and for the fans. In this slideshow we travel through time to all of U2’s tour opening nights of the past and put them into perspective. How many new songs usually make their debut? How good are performances of opening nights? What can these nights tell us about the upcoming tour? Let’s go back in time and find out!
The legends and facts of song snippets
Over the years, Bono started more and more to reference other songs during live performances of songs. What started small in the eighties got a bit out of hand in the past two decades. Loved by some, hated by others: the legends and facts of “snippets” of other songs during U2 live performances over the years in this rich slideshow.
Tour preparations and sightings of Bono
We work around the clock to prepare for the tour. We are organising U2start meet-ups in the US and Europe to connect with other fans, and we are in the final stages of completing our t-shirt project which will bring you the most amazing collection of U2 t-shirts you have ever seen. We are also keeping track of all tour rumours, we are judging recent photos of Bono, we’ve introduced new smileys and we are playing funny song name games on our forums. And we are of course working to get more and better U2 content to all of you such as some amazing recently added show recordings, torrents and other U2start originals.
