Legendary Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant says he has moved on from rock and wants to focus on a different type of music.
“It’s about getting down to the earth of music,” says former Led Zeppelin musician, Robert Plant. Plant, now 62, has rejected the idea of getting back together with his former band mates for a reunion tour.
You see, Robert Plant is a changed man, or at least musician, and has given up rock music. “I feel so far away from heavy rock now. It’s quite odd how mine and John’s paths seem to have crossed over – we’ve sort of gone into each other’s world’s a bit.”
Robert Plant has given up rock music.
Plant recently went to go hear Led Zeppelin band mate John Paul Jones’ new rock group Them Crooked Vultures in concert and had troubles with his hearing, admitting that the decibel level was a bit too much to handle.
After critical success for his bluegrass collaboration with Alison Kraus, the Grammy-award winner is looking to focus on different types and styles of music.
“For me, it’s no longer to do with vanity, ego and visible success… I’ve gone from being in that huge band to picking up the pieces of my own gift.”
This sounds like an artist who has reached a point in life where he wants to feel like he can create. Clearly his collaboration with Kraus opened Robert Plants mind and ears to the possibilities of musical exploration.
