James Blake is back with another two hour mix for BBC Radio 1 as part of his monthly residency. On previous installments, he’s premiered Jamie xx’s new single, remixed Kendrick Lamar, pretended to interview Burial, and shared new music of his own. Stream it here.
This time, he played tracks from Talking Heads, Schoolboy Q, Bill Withers, Prince, Peter Gabriel, Lone, Arca, and more. He also dropped a track called “Bell” by somebody named “Nat King Scrondle.” No word yet on who, exactly, that is, but last time Blake did something like that, it ended up being Jamie xx in disguise.
Blake also played a live version of “Life Round Here” recorded at his show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles last fall. He mentioned that the show had been filmed for future release.
