Bono spoke about U2’s new material in a recent interview that aired on NRJ’s Energy radio network in Europe. He didn’t share anything new about timing and release date, but he did namedrop two new U2 songs: “Song For Someone” and “The Troubles.” Here’s how he described them:
“There’s some beautiful heartbreakers. There’s one called ‘Song For Someone.’ There’s another called ‘The Troubles,’ which is just like … it’ll rip you apart. It’s got some soul music in it.”
Reminder: Song titles are always subject to change until they’re printed on a CD booklet.
You can listen to the whole interview online — it runs about 10 minutes. He’s talking about the new material at about the 6:15 mark and later in that reply mentions the two new song titles.

UPDATE: Make it three songs. In an article posted late Monday afternoon on the LA Times website, Bono also mentions a song called “This Is Where You Can Reach Me” and says he thinks it’ll be on the album. He also mentions that one reason U2 is still working on the album is that the band wants to do the equivalent of “road testing” the new songs in different keys and arrangements before the album comes out.
