Foals have topped a poll to discover NME readers’ favourite album and song of the year.
The Oxford band held off competition from Arctic Monkeys and Queens Of The Stone Age is both polls, with their album ‘Holy Fire’ receiving a higher average reader rating than both ‘AM’ and Josh Homme and co’s latest album ‘… Like Clockwork’.
Readers gave ‘Holy Fire’, Foals third release, an average of just over eight out of 10.
Meanwhile, Foals’ track ‘My Number’ came top of readers picks, in front of Arctic Monkeys single ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ and ‘Smooth Sailing’ by Queens Of The Stone Age. ‘My Number’, the second track to be taken from ‘Holy Fire’, scored an average mark of nine and a half out of 10.
