Elton John has promised that his new album is his “most exciting” record in a long time.
Talking to Rolling Stone, The Rocket Man revealed that he hadn’t initially been excited about working on the new LP, which is titled ‘The Diving Board’ and is set for release this autumn, but was now “psyched” about the album.
Speaking about the sound of the album, he described it as: The most exciting solo record I’ve done in a long, long time.
He also revealed that he had been so unenthusiastic about the initial recording sessions on the LP, which is the follow-up to his 2010 effort ‘The Union’, that he had ignored a set of lyrics given to him by long-term cohort Bernie Taupin. “I was due to go back into the studio, but I didn’t know whether I wanted to go back in so quickly,” he said. “I was on holiday and didn’t even look at them [the lyrics] nme.com
