The Doors‘ Ray Manzarek andRobby Krieger will be on hand to celebrate what would have been frontman Jim Morrison‘s 65th birthday at one of the singer’s famed Los Angeles hangouts.
The event will take place atBarney’s Beanery on December 8 and will be broadcast live by LAradio station KLOS. Morrison, who died in 1971, used to hang out there a along with Janis Joplin In the late 1960s. He was later banned from the West Hollywood establishment for reportedly urinating on the bar.Â
At the event next month, a memorial plaque will be unveiled at the spot where he urinated. Manzarek andKrieger will also sign copies of The Doors‘ ‘Live at The Matrix 1967’, which was released Stateside yesterday (November 18).
