Big news for U2 fans: The Edge says new music is coming “very soon.” In a recent interview, the iconic guitarist revealed that the band is deep into creating fresh tracks, with one single potentially just around the corner. After last year’s Atomic City single and their celebrated Las Vegas residency, U2 isn’t slowing down.
Edge hinted at a more disciplined songwriting approach this time around, crediting his “solo album mindset” for helping streamline the creative process. “We’re in a great place creatively,” he said, adding that U2’s sessions are yielding exciting results. And while he promises guitars will be prominent, don’t expect a “straight-up rock thing.” Instead, the band is experimenting with “sci-fi Irish folk music” alongside longtime collaborator Brian Eno.
The Edge also shared the band’s eagerness to hit the road again. “We’re looking forward to hooking up with our fans where they live,” he said, signaling an end to their recent Vegas-bound performances.
