Disclosure are to release a new album titled ‘Caracal’ this September.
Having yesterday teased fans by posting a cryptic clip via their Facebook page – as well as some of the album artwork cropping up at this weekend’s Parklife Festival – the Lawrence brothers finally made the official announcement just before performing at their own Wild Life Festival in Brighton this evening (June 7).
In a statement, Howard Lawrence explained how the pair drew influence from the Caracal, which is a kind of wild cat sometimes called the Desert Lynx or African Lynx. “I just love the way they look, their physical capabilities and their anonymity,” he said. “It felt like a perfect fit for our Wild Life brand too, so the Caracal made perfect sense as the lead visual for the new album and over the course of recording, it also felt like a natural title for the new record too.”
The album, the group’s second full-length following 2013’s ‘Settle’, will be released September 25 and is available to pre-order from tomorrow (June 8). It will likely include recent single ‘Holding On’, which features Gregory Porter. Disclosure have previously promised that other “big names” will appear on the record.
