Radiohead’s 1997 album ‘OK Computer’ has been selected for induction into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.
The album is one of a number of recordings that has been recognised for selection this year. Other albums highlighted for the 2015 entries include albums from The Doors, Joan Baez and Lauryn Hill’s debut ‘The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill’.
Meanwhile, Ben E King’s ‘Stand By Me’ and ‘You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ by The Righteous Brothers are among the songs which will be preserved at the Packard Campus for Audio Visual Conservation in Culpeper, Virginia.
Each year a batch of songs and albums are preserved as part of the National Recording Preservation Act of 2000. The Librarian of Congress selects 25 recordings that are “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant” and at least 10 years old.
