Rare footage of Oasis performing ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ in 1994 has emerged. Scroll down to watch.
The band were playing at Liverpool’s Lomax on April 13, just two days after their debut single ‘Supersonic’ had been released. Interestingly the single only reached Number 31 in the charts, making it Oasis’ lowest-charting single, although the amassed sales of almost 220,000 since 1994 mean it’s their 13th best-selling release.
The footage has been released to mark the 20th anniversary reissue of the band’s debut album this week (May 19). ‘Definitely Maybe: Chasing The Sun Edition’ is a three CD set including a remastered version of the original album and various alternate takes and live recordings as well as demos of ‘Strange Thing’ and ‘Married With Children’.
There’s also a deluxe vinyl box available, which features the three CDs, the album on heavyweight vinyl, a 56-page hardback coffee table book, a 12-inch x 12-inch print, a tote bag, enamel keyring, badge set, set of five postcards and exclusive seven-inch.
There’s also a replica available of the 1993 demo cassette the band handed out before they were signed. Reissues of 1995’s ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ and 1997’s ‘Be Here Now’ are due later this year.
