Following his appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show, Prince stuck around in Los Angeles and staged a pair of surprise performances at the Palladium over the weekend. On Friday night, he played a brief seven-song set following Liz Wafield’s own concert, but it was Saturday night where the real action was. As Vintage Vinyl News reports, the show lasted over four hours and spanned nearly 60 songs, including five encores. He hit on all periods of his legendary career, including greatest hits from Purple Rain and Sign O’ the Times, material from his work in The Family and The Time, plus various news songs and other unreleased material.
