Neil Young has been in the news a whole lot lately thanks to his PonoMusic service, Jack White-assisted new album, and environmental campaigning. This spring, a selection of Canadian acts will pay tribute to be beloved songwriting legend with a two-day tribute called “Songs of Neil Young.”
The event will take place on April 22 and 23 at the Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver. It’s part of the venue’s “Songs of…” series, which has previously brought fans “Songs of Bob Dylan” and “Songs of Bruce Springsteen.”
Each night includes a different bill, both with eight different acts. Most of the performers are local; they include Louise Burns, Jordan Klassen, Shuyler Jansen, Johnny De Courcy, the Reckoners, War Baby, Failing, Devon Lougheed (Hey Ocean!, beekeeper), Dominique Fricot, Sky Wallace, Redbird, David Newberry, Rolla Oak and more.
