Watch Flaming Lips and Sean Lennon Cover “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” on Letterman
In celebration of the Beatles’ Ed Sullivan Show debut 50 years ago, David Letterman is holding a week-long celebration called Beatles Week. Each night a different musician is to appear onstage to cover a Beatles classic. It started off with Broken Bells taking on “And I love Her” followed by Sting and Lenny Kravitz.
Last night the party continued with everyone’s favorite weirdos, The Flaming Lips. Known to do a pretty good Beatles cover on occasion, the band teamed up with none other than Sean Lennon to cover “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds.” Watch the wonderfully wild performance, packed with showers of confetti, above.
