Elbow’s Guy Garvey has revealed to Q the inspiration behind the title of their forthcoming album title after it changed at the last minute.
Speaking in the 2014 preview in our latest issue, Q331 out now, the singer explained the origins of The Take Off And Landing Of Everything, which replaced Carry Her, Carry Me at the 11th hour.
“It always happens this. The title’s now from a song on there; this huge, cacophonous thing born of our love for space rock, prog, Primal Scream and Spiritualized,” he says of the name of the record due out on 10 March.
“It’s to do with the fact that there have been lots of life events,” he adds of the phrase’s origins. “There are five members of the band, people have split up, go together, had children, it never stops.”
