Muse have announced plans for the DVD release of their concert film Muse – Live At Rome Olympic Stadium.
The film will come out on DVD and Blu-ray on December 2, alongside a live CD of the gig. The release follows the limited cinema release of the film, which will screen in 20 cinemas in 20 cities, including Sydney, London, Los Angeles, Rome, Tokyo, Paris and Rio on November 5. On November 7 the film will be screened in 100 cinemas worldwide for one day only. For ticket information, visit film.muse.mu. The film will be released in 4K, otherwise known as Ultra High Definition, which equals 8.8 million pixels, four more times than the current cinema industry standard.
Speaking about the film, which was filmed in front of a 60,000 capacity crowd this summer and features performances of the songs ‘Uprising’, ‘Supermassive Black Hole’, ‘Time Is Running Out’ and ‘Plug In Baby’, the band have said: “This is the biggest tour we’ve done in terms of scale and production value and it’s definitely the show we’re most proud of so we’re really excited to be able to release it as the first ever ultra high definition concert film. It captures an extraordinary amount of detail and not just everything we’re doing – the fans, even those at the back, the set, the actors and the incredible atmosphere on a very special night in Rome. We can promise our fans, whether they managed to come to the live shows or not, an entirely new Muse concert experience.”
