The majority of tickets for next year’s Glastonbury Festival go on sale tomorrow (October 6) at 9am.
A batch of 15,000 coach package tickets were made available on Thursday (October 3) at 6pm – and sold out within half an hour – and the remaining 120,000 tickets are expected to be snapped up very quickly tomorrow morning. Michael Eavis has recently revealed that over one million people have registered for tickets for next year’s event.
Prices for the 2014 event have risen by £5, meaning that the overall ticket price will be £210 plus £5 booking fee. Successful ticket buyers will be required to pay a £50 deposit tomorrow.
During a Twitter Q&A on September 26, it was confirmed that UK buyers can only pay for tickets using a debit card and that payment for the maximum six deposits can come via six different debit cards. The reason for dropping the maximum number of tickets from eight to six per transaction, it was explained, is to give more people a chance to buy tickets. See the full Q&A here.
Earlier this year, Eavis revealed that he already has all three headliners in place for next year’s event. Bookmakers have been taking odds on the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Prince and David Bowie to take the top spots. Foo Fighters are currently favourites to fill the coveted Saturday night Pyramid Stage slot, whilst rumours of a ‘Definitely Maybe’ 20th anniversary reunion have given Oasis odds of 10/1 to make an appearance.
