Travis have unveiled the tracklisting for their first new album in five years.
The band will release their seventh LP, ‘Where You Stand’, on August 19. It follows 2008’s ‘Ode To J Smith’ and features Michael Ilbert on production duties (The Hives/The Cardigans) who worked on the record at David Bowie’s favoured Hansa Studios in Berlin.
Scroll down for the tracklisting. The band will also be playing a number of live shows to support the record’s release, including a slot at T in the Park on July 13 as well as at Sandown Racecourse on July 24 and at V Festival on August 17-18.
The first single to be taken from the album is also called ‘Where You Stand’ and is released today. Scroll down to watch the video for the single.
Speaking about the band’s departure from the spotlight, bassist Dougie Payne commented: “You stay away as long as it takes, so you feel that hunger and desire to get back to it same as you did at the start.”
Travis released their debut album, ‘Good Feeling’, in 1997. Their 1999 album ‘The Man Who’, topped the UK’s Official Album Chart and was that year’s biggest selling record in the UK, shifting over 2.7 million copies. It was followed by 2001’s ‘The Invisible Band’, which again took the Number One spot on the UK’s Official Album Chart.
