Depeche Mode opened the UK leg of their ‘Delta Machine’ world tour last night (May 28) at London’s O2 Arena.
The synth legends performed a two-hour and 20-minute set, showcasing seven tracks from their recent album of the same name in between a host of their greatest hits including ‘Policy Of Truth’, ‘Enjoy The Silence’, ‘Personal Jesus’, ‘I Feel You’ and ‘Just Can’t Get Enough’ and ‘Never Let Me Down Again’.
The band also threw in a few surprises with guitarist Martin Gore taking up vocal duties instead of frontman Dave Gahan on ‘Songs Of Faith And Devotion’ track ‘Higher Love’ and ‘When The Body Speaks’ from their 2001 album ‘Exciter’. During their set, the band also took time to delve into their remix album collection performing versions of ‘A Pain That I’m Used To’ by Jacques Lu Cont and Goldfrapp’s version of ‘Violator’ classic ‘Halo’.
