Blur have taken to Twitter to announce what is thought to be the release of two brand new singles.
Writing at Twitter.com/blurofficial, the band posted the date July 2 and the times 6.15pm and 7.15pm (BST) alongside the hashtagged names ‘The Puritan’ and ‘Under The Westway’.
Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon debuted ‘Under The Westway’ earlier this year at a Brit Awards War Child benefit show, whilst Albarn played an acoustic take on ‘The Puritan’ at a poetry festival at London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall earlier this month. Scroll down to hear versions of both songs.
‘The Puritan’ post features a picture of a neon lettering stating “Hey puritan what you gonna do about it” while the shot which accompanies the ‘Under The Westway’ tweet features a photo of the West London overpass emblazoned with the words: “Bring us the day they switch off the machines.”
