R.E.M.’s career-spanning greatest-hits collection Part Lies, Part Heart, Part Truth, Part Garbage 1982- 2011 arrives in about a week, and it includes three new songs that the band recorded just before they decided to break up. We’ve already heard the single “We All Go Back To Where We Belong.” And now the entire two-disc collection is streaming at NPR, which means we finally get to hear “A Month Of Saturdays” and “Hallelujah,” which could be the last two R.E.M. songs ever. Think about that.

Unfortunately, NPR is streaming the album in two big single-disc chunks, not individual track by individual track. That means you can’t jump directly to the new joints. But the handclappy, vaguely new-wave “A Month Of Saturdays,” starts at around 1:06:38 on disc 2, and the elegiac “Hallelujah” begins around 1:11:52. Click over here to stream the album.
