http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkZ2CCVlXuE&feature=player_embeddedA previously unreleased track from The Rolling Stones has appeared online. Scroll down to listen to ‘No Spare Parts’.
The song will be included in the forthcoming re-issue of the band’s 1978 album ‘Some Girls’ on November 21. Recorded in Paris in 1978, the song was re-discovered by producer Don Was for the Deluxe and Super Deluxe editions of ‘Some Girls’.
The song is about a journey from Los Angeles to San Antonio in Texas and sees Mick Jagger playing electric piano, Keith Richards on acoustic piano, Ron Wood on pedal steel guitar, Charlie Watts on drums and Bill Wyman on bass.
The remastered ‘Some Girls’ will be in new packaging featuring liner notes by Rolling Stone writer Anthony DeCurtis and previously unseen photographs of the band shot by Helmut Newton around the time of the album’s original release.
The Super Deluxe version will include a seven-inch single of ‘Beast Of Burden’ featuring its original sleeve artwork. Frontman Mick Jagger told Spinner: We did ‘Exile [On Main St]’, we did a lot of different takes, a lot of different cuts that hadn’t come out before, so we’re doing the similar kind of thing with ‘Some Girls’, so I’ve just been doing them because a lot of them weren’t complete, so I had to complete them, and then we’re going to mix those and put them out.
