On the heels of a triumphant, collaborative visit to Coachella over the weekend, details for Bon Iver’s follow-up to their debut LP, For Emma, Forever Ago, have been announced by Justin Vernon’s label, Jagjaguwar. June 21 marks the drop date for the self-titled sophomore effort, a 10-track album in which — as previously reported — each song represents a different geographical location.
Bon Iver was recorded and mixed over the course of three years at April Base Studios, a former veterinarian’s clinic in Wisconsin that was remodeled by Vernon with his brother Nate, who co-owns the facility. “It’s been a wonderful freedom, working in a place we built,” said Vernon in a press release. “It’s also only three miles from the house I grew up in, and just ten minutes from the bar where my parents met.”
Check out the cover art above and the full tracklist, alongside a 51-second teaser video starring the original Gregory Euclide painting that was used for the album art with an audio snippet.
