Arcade Fire pulled off the upset of the night (or, at least, left a few people at home upset) by winning the Album Of The Year Grammy last night. Things looked good for the band when it became obvious that they’d be the last performance (nearly every performer went home with awards later in the broadcast). They did “Month Of May†first, then heard the announcement (by a very confused Barbara Streisand) from backstage before returning to quickly accept the award and then do “Ready To Start.â€
Other winners last night include The Black Keys, Neil Young, Them Crooked Vultures, Muse, Cee Lo Green, and La Roux. Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, Kings Of Leon, Muse, Janelle Monae, Norah Jones, Drake, and Cee Lo Green also appeared.
