Belle and Sebastian Announce Release Date, Real Album Cover, TV Show
Last week, we reported that Belle and Sebastian had titled their new album Belle and Sebastian Write About Love and shared that album’s cover art with the world. Or at least, we thought it was the cover.
But on the band’s website today, Stuart Murdoch announced that the previous image was not actually the cover. Instead, the image you will see in your local record store is the one above, which does have a much more Belle and Sebastian-y font and tint to it. And he also let us know when the album will hit those stores: October 11 in “most countries”, October 12 in North America.
In that same post, Murdoch also reports that Belle and Sebastian are at work on their very own TV show. Down below, you can watch a clip from it. In the video, the band plays a snippet of a Write About Love song called “I Want the World to Stop” on what looks like an old-timey talk show.
Hawk, the new album from Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan, is total road-trip music. Appropriately, the video for scorched-earth folk-blues stomp “You Won’t Let Me Down Again” mostly takes place in cars and hotels and features cinematography so evocative that you can practically taste the cheap rest-stop coffee. Nothing really happens in the video, but that just makes it even more like a real road trip.
