Interpol have announced that their forthcoming new album will be released in “mid September”.
In a statement on their official website InterpolNYC.com, the group revealed that the follow-up to 2007’s ‘Our Love To Admire’ will be self-titled.
The band’s forth studio effort, the LP will be the last to feature bassist Carlos Dengler, who quit the group earlier this year.
Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York and mixed with Alan Moulder at Assault and Battery in London, the album is set to have an orchestra feel according to frontman Paul Banks.
Meanwhile, Pitchfork are reporting that David Pajo, who has worked with the likes of Stereolab, Bonnie Prince Billy and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, has joined the group to replace Dengler.
Interpol are set to tour the UK and Ireland later this year, while have had to cancel a series of upcoming US shows after U2 postponed dates on their own US jaunt .
