La moda sfrutta l’immagine carismatica del chitarrista
2010-01-25 – Oltre che per il suo modo di suonare la chitarra, Jimi Hendrix ha inventato il suo genere di cool, di stile: il musicista di Seattle fa immagine e moda. Un mito che quarant’anni dopo la sua morte (l’anniversario cade a settembre di quest’anno) resiste all’evoluzione dei tempi, tanto che gli stilisti ricorrono a lui in cerca di ispirazione oltre che per vendere meglio i loro prodotti associandoli a un’icona così potente. Camicie psichedeliche, sciarpe di seta, grandi cappelli, pantaloni attillatissimi, giacche militari, cinte con grosse fibbie… tutto ciò fa lo stile Hendrix, anche i jeans infilati negli stivali.
Lo scorso autunno Gabriele Strehle ha presentato per il marchio Strenesse la Jimi Hendrix Bag, una borsa che trae ispirazione dal rock, vellutata al tatto, di pelle morbida con particolari a sbalzo, ottenuti grazie a una speciale rifinitura a effetto pelle di serpente.
Prossimamente l’immagine del chitarrista sarà sfruttata per la seconda campagna pubblicitaria di Liu-Jeans Men’s Collection. In essa Jimi Hendrix, il “guitar hero†di tutti i tempi, è colto in un’immagine molto rara, che lo ritrae con un’espressione serena ed è ancora più carismatico. La campagna della collezione Primavera/Estate 2010 Liu Jeans partirà dal mese di febbraio sulle principali testate quotidiane, settimanali e mensili nazionali.

Pavement Comp Tracklist Revealed
Matador will release Quarantine the Past: The Best of Pavement, a career retrospective compilation from reunited indie deities Pavement, on March 9. (Domino will release it a day earlier in the UK.) The 23-track album draws from Pavement’s entire pre-breakup run, and though it doesn’t include any previously unreleased material, it does “dig deeper than the hits,” as Matador promised. The Matablog just announced that tracklist, and it’s true to their word.
Every Pavement song that could be considered a “hit”, however nebulously, is accounted for: “Cut Your Hair”, “Stereo”, “Shady Lane”, “Range Life”, “Summer Babe (Winter Version)”, etc. But the comp also includes a few left-field choices, like the R.E.M. tribute “Unseen Power of the Picket Fence”, Pavement’s contribution to Red Hot’s 1993 No Alternative compilation.
