Yorke forms new band and announces live dates
Frontman to play two shows with members of Red Hot Chili Peppers and REM
The frontman has recruited Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, REMcollaborator Joey Waronker, Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco, and long term producerNigel Godrich to perform his solo material live.
Yorke‘s new outfit have announced they will play two Los Angeles shows at the Orpheum Theatre on October 4 and 5.
“In the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting a band together for fun to play ‘The Eraser’ stuff live and the new songs etc, to see if it could work!” the singer wrote onRadiohead‘s Dead Air Space blog.
He added: “We don’t really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz… well… we haven’t got that much material yet! But come and check it out if you are in the area.”
The Radiohead frontman is yet to reveal whether his new band will be playing further dates.
As previously reported, Yorke had been considering names for his solo career from comedian Adam Buxton, with Thombola, Thomosexual,The Duke Of Yorke and T.Homme, all considered.

AC/DC have announced details of ‘Backtracks’, a rarities retrospective of the band’s 36-year long career.
A standard and deluxe edition of ‘Backtracks’ will go onsale on November 10. The deluxe edition, which is available through Acdcbacktracks.com, features three CDs of live and studio rarities, two DVDs, a vinyl album of studio collectibles, a 164-page coffee table book, facsimiles of authentic memorabilia, an AC/DC guitar plectrum, a replica Bon Scott tattoo and more. The deluxe edition also comes housed in a fully working AC/DC guitar amplifier.
‘Backtracks” standard edition features two CDs of studio and live rarities and a ‘Family Jewels 3’ DVD, along with bonus video.
In other AC/DC news, the band were today (September 29) forced to postpone a series of gigs due to frontman Brian Johnson’s health.
