With one critically acclaimed record under their belt and a highly anticipated sophomore album Outer South on its way, Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band are set to release “One of My Kind†on April 15th, a documentary that will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the band’s journey over the past year and a half. Made by the band’s guitar-tech Phil Schaffart and presented by Causecast, “One of My Kind†traces the group’s ever-growing bond as friends and collaborators. “One of My Kind” takes viewers on a 60-minute musical journey including: footage from Tepoztlán, Mexico, where they recorded their first album, Conor Oberst, their worldwide tour in 2008, and the making of Outer South in El Paso, TX.

The film will be available as a free stream or HD download exclusively on Causecast.org, IFC.com, conoroberst.com, mergerecords.com, and wichita-recordings.com. Arcade Fire’s Miroir Noir premieres at Full Frame Documentary Film Festival
Miroir Noir, Arcade Fire’s documentary film will have it’s big-screen, US premiere on Saturday, April 4th at The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival in Durham, NC. Miroir Noir will be screened beginning at 10:45 PM at the historic Carolina Theater. Ticket information can be found here.
Miroir Noir follows Arcade Fire through the making and touring of their 2007 album Neon Bible, documenting the band at their Montreal studio, the making of promotional films and videos, along with live footage and a few short films made on the road.
The Full Frame Documentary Film Festival is an annual international event dedicated to the theatrical exhibition of non-fiction cinema. Each spring Full Frame welcomes filmmakers and film lovers from around the world to historic downtown Durham, North Carolina for a four-day, morning to midnight array of over 100 films as well as discussions, panels, and southern hospitality.
The standard and deluxe DVD versions of Miroir Noir will be released on April 7, 2009 and are available for pre-order in the Merge store.Â
