 Metallica, My Morning Jacket and Pearl Jam are among the artist featured on “Live From Bonnaroo 2008,” due in January on DVD from Superfly Presents and A.C. Entertainment.
The DVD was originally offered only to 2008 festival ticket-buyers, but is now being made available to the general public for a limited time. Sam Erickson, best known for his work with My Morning Jacket and Dave Matthews Band, directed the DVD in tandem with his 44 Pictures. Highlights include a crowd participation-heavy version of Pearl Jam’s “Better Man,” Metallica’s “Fade to Black,” My Morning Jacket’s “I’m Amazed” and Mastodon’s “Colony of Birchmen.” The Raconteurs, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, Broken Social Scene, Jack Johnson and Les Claypool are among the other acts represented. The Killers: Day & Age…ogni tanto qualcuno si sveglia dal coccolome imposto da MTV-ALLMusic&Luciferi vari e giudica così il nuovo Killers album:
the Killers confirm their essence: a band capable of surefire radio singles, seemingly incapable of turning out a full-length without grievous missteps. They admirably, desperately want to be an outfit capable of The Great Album, but they let that ambition sink half their songs. They’re a singles band. In this day and age, that’s probably enough.

Pearl Jam Set To Reissue Ten • Billboard reports extensive details on the four different versions of an upcoming re-release for Pearl Jam’s Ten, including everything from a two-disc version of the record (in original and remastered form with previously unreleased album-era tracks), to a DVD with their classic Unplugged performance, to a vinyl version with slipcase cover and audio of EdVed’s audition tapes. Not quite out in time for the holidays (release is 3/24), but pre-orders start now at pearljam.com so maybe a purchase receipt could fit in those stockings.

Polly Jean Harvey, ha annunciato per il prossimo 30 marzo, l’uscita del suo nuovo album che segnerà il ritorno di John Parish, al suo fianco.
A Woman A Man Walked By, sarà il titolo…era dal 1996 con l’album Dance Hall at Louse Point che i due..eccetera eccetera. (via NME)

oggi ho ascoltato e mi è molto piaciuto, l’album debutto, degli scozzesi BUBBLEGUM LEMONADE: Doubleplusgood è il titolo, Matinée l’etichetta.
Pop cristallino, chitarre 12 corde Rickenbacker in ‘Tired Of Sleeping’, un pizzico di Jesus and Mary Chain nell’iniziale ‘A Billion Heartbeats’…insomma jangling guitars e ricche armonie per rimarcare, quanto la scena musicale in Scozia, sia vibrante, originale e viva.

grazie a buzz e alien per i consigli e la demolizione dei killers… è quello che si meritano, soprattutto certi fans. vi giro un link che ho trovato casualmente, dove si può incontrare qualche scenetta simpatica, dai vampire weekend ai fleet foxes.
