Human League (‘Don’t you want me’), album dopo 7 anni
Gli Human League, piccoli grandi eroi dell’era synthpop, sono in studio per dare un successore a “Secrets†del 2001. “Secrets†a sua volta era uscito a notevole distanza, sei anni, dal suo predecessore. Il gruppo di Sheffield, che tra una traversia e l’altra continua a far musica dal 1977 ed il cui maggiore successo rimane “Don’t you want me†del 1981, ha però riferito d’essere senza etichetta; la band ha detto alla BBC che dovrà escogitare un metodo alternativo per far giungere il futuro prodotto ai consumatori.
Nello scorso settembre il “Daily Mailâ€, il secondo quotidiano più venduto del Regno Unito, per ogni copia del giorno 11 ha regalato “Dareâ€, l’album più popolare della band. Si è stimato che, se il gruppo avesse voluto una pubblicità del genere, avrebbe dovuto spendere 250.000 sterline, circa 316.000 euro. La formazione, la cui line-up ufficiale ora comprende i soli Joanne Catherall, Philip Oakey e Susan Ann Sulley, il prossimo 30 novembre inizierà un tour britannico comprendente undici date.

Visti a Milano, tanti, tanti anni fa, non avevano ancora registrato, quel capolavoro di Synt-pop che è stato “DARE”…non facevano ancora parte del gruppo dunque, le due squinzie; in compenso erano sul palco con Oakey, Martyn Ware & Ian Craigh Marsh, in seguito Heaven 17. A me piacevano, sia Human che Heaven 17…”Brother, Sister, (We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang…”
