In the event one needs reminding of the year Jack White set out solo, the White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather/Third Man Records leader boasted three (his favorite number and the digit hand-tattooed on Johnny Depp) big headlines in as many days this week. The Austin City Limits bit speaks for itself in the video clips below, previewing tomorrow night’s set on the long-running performance series. Meanwhile, the Beatles’ last-recorded LP, Abbey Road, was officially brushed off the top spot for vinyl sales in 2012 by White’s solo debut, Blunderbuss, which sold — perhaps his new favorite number — 33,000 copies. In celebration and in the archival tradition of his Third Man Vault subscription service, White will release his earliest live gig led by the name gained upon marrying Meg White: Jack White and the Bricks: Live on the Garden Bowl Lanes, pressed on bowling-pin-white vinyl for members signed up before the end of January. Complete with Bob Dylan covers, early version of Stripes tunes and a cut dedicated to Meg, the live record arrives in February.
