UN FILM , ECCO LA PRESENTAZIONE DI UNCUT
The movie, which currently has the working title of ‘Two Worlds Colliding’ – from the lyrics of the band’s hit single ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ – will be based on the 2000 biography Just A Man: The Real Michael Hutchence, which was written by Hutchence’s sister Tina and late mother Patricia.
Writer Bobby Galinsky is working on the film’s screenplay. The casting and announcement of a director are expected to follow in the New Year.
Galinsky told Encore Magazine: I chased the idea 12 years ago but there was so much litigation and family issues, it looked too harsh. But recently I was made aware of Trevor Ray Field โ who was good friends of Tina Hutchence โ and he brought me the book.
He added: “Over the course of the last month we negotiated the rights with Tina, and we hit the mark. I like music biopics to be about the person, not just sex, drugs and rock’n’roll. It’s going to be a heartfelt, interesting project about a complex life, like Ray or Walk The Line.”
It was 15 years ago today (November 22) that Hutchence was found dead in his Sydney hotel room aged 37. Although his death was recorded by a coroner as the result of suicide, there has been much debate over whether he died as a result of an accident โ a claim publically supported by his former partner and TV presenter Paula Yates.
The remaining members of INXS recently split the band earlier this month.
