Prince is bringing his “Welcome 2” residency to Chicago. The series of shows kicks off on September 24 at the Union Center; how long it’ll go for hasn’t been revealed yet, but tickets will go on sale on September 6. This marks Prince’s first performances in Chicago since 2004.
In conjunction with the Chicago residency, Prince has announced his partnership with Rebuild the Dream, an organization that seeks to be “a platform for bottom-up, people-powered innovations to help fix the economy not just here in the U.S. but globally as well.” A press release notes that the organization will set up camp at the United Center during Prince’s residency to “offer opportunities to learn about, support, and take part in rebuilding vibrant and sustainable communities.”
