Guns N’ Roses are rumoured to be releasing a brand new album next year.
According to Guns N’ Roses guitarist Richard Fortus the follow-up to 2008’s ‘Chinese Democracy’ is mostly finished, but probably won’t be released until 2014, writes Vintage Vinyl News.
‘Chinese Democracy’ was the band’s sixth album and is notorious for being the most expensive album ever produced, coming it at over $13 million (£8.4 million). 15 years passed between the release of Guns N’ Roses’ 1993 studio album of covers ‘”The Spaghetti Incident?”‘ and the eventual release of ‘Chinese Democracy’. It took 10 years to record.
Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose recently found himself in hot water after a fan declared that he was suing Rose for $5,000 for allegedly knocking his teeth out with a microphone at a gig in Perth, Australia. Describing the incident, Darren Wright said: “With the bright lights and explosions, I couldn’t see anything. The next thing I knew, I was whacked in the mouth. I thought I had been punched. I was quite stunned and it took a few seconds to realise what was going on. I could feel bits of teeth in my mouth. Then someone is climbing through my legs to grab the microphone.”
He added: “I don’t think he intended to do it, but it came at me at a fairly flat and hard trajectory. Those cordless microphones are not light. I’m surprised it didn’t do more damage. At the very least, I want someone to pay to get my teeth fixed.”
