Back in August, Radiohead frontmanThom Yorke gave a lengthy interview toThe Believer, dropping the bombshell thatRadiohead didn’t plan on releasing any more full-length albums anytime soon: “None of us want to go into that creativehoo-ha of a long-play record again. Not straight off. I mean, it’s just become a real drag. It worked with In Rainbowsbecause we had a real fixed idea about where we were going. But we’ve all said that we can’t possibly dive into that again. It’ll kill us.”
Well, guitarist Ed O’Brien isn’t so sure about that. In a recent interview with NME, he said: “We were misquoted. We will be making an album!” (Via At Ease.)
O’Brien also differs from Yorke on the subject of the CD format, which Yorke’s not particularly fond of: “We all like vinyl. That’s not going to go away. I still like CDs as well. I got the Speech Debelle CD the other day—I nearly downloaded it fromiTunes, but I thought, ‘No, I want the physical thing.'”
