Soundgarden have revealed the trailer for their long-awaited comeback album ‘King Animal’.
The trailer is 85 seconds in length and shows a mountain side covered in snow while a discordant guitar riff plays in the background. As the trailer goes on the snow begins to melt and a depiction of each member of the band’s face appears against the mountain side.
‘King Animal’ is the grunge veterans’ first album since their 1996 effort ‘Down On The Upside’, which came out in the same year they split up. The band have been working on its follow-up since they reunited in 2010.
It is confirmed for release on November 12 in the UK and November 13 in the US. Tracks slated to appear on the record include ‘Blood On The Valley Floor’, ‘Been Away Too Long’, ‘A Thousand Days Before’ and ‘Worse Dreams’, which you can hear a clip of at the bottom of the page.
Earlier this year, Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell told NME that the band’s follow-up to ‘Down On The Upside’ would “pick up where they left off”.
He said: “We have an album coming out in the fall. It’s kind of hard to describe, it’s sort of picking up where we left off. There’s a lot of different feels on the album. We’re a band where every single member contributes music so that makes it very diverse. It’s a very rich album with a lot of different moods to it.”
