Big news day for the Cure. Following on the heels of their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination comes this:
Earlier this year, Robert Smith and co. played an event at Australia’s Vivid Live Festival, dubbed “Reflections”, in which they performed their first three albums in full. Slicing Up Eyeballs points out that the goth kings have announced on their website they’ll play seven more shows like this, performing their 1979 debut Three Imaginary Boys, 1980’s Seventeen Seconds, and 1981’s Faith in full.
The band say this will be the last chance to see these performances (that was the claim the first time, too, though). On November 15, they play London’s Royal Albert Hall; then they’ll perform at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles November 21-23 and the Beacon Theatre in New York City November 25-27. Like in Australia, the lineups for these shows will include past and present members of the band. See the full lineups here.
Below, watch the video for “Primary”, off of Faith.
