e come sara’? mah! si mettano prima un po’ d’accordo loro…

Interpol’s Paul Banks has revealed that they are working on an “orchestral” sounding new album.

The follow-up to 2007s ‘Our Love To Admire’, the frontman explained that the record was heading in a more classical direction.

“There’s some really classical stuff going on,” Banks told BBC 6 Music. “[bassist] Carlos [Dengler] has gone to total new levels of crazy sophisticated orchestration.” He added.

Due out in early 2010, the yet-to-be-named album is set to be a “step forward” for the band, despite reports from the groups’s drummer Sam Fogarino, that the album would sound like their debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’.

“What we’ve worked on is a real step forward and just very different and very relaxed in what we’re doing,” Banks explained. “It certainly doesn’t sound like anything we’ve ever done before, to me.”
