IL NUOVO ALBUM DI YEASAYER

Yeasayer have announced full details of their third studio album, which is to be titled ‘Fragrant World’.

The album is the follow-up to their 2010 second album ‘Odd Blood’ and is due for release on August 20.

The album will contain a total of 11 tracks, including ‘Henrietta’, which the band recently released.

That track was sent out to members of the band’s mailing list, with a physical CD containing the song sent to every person who had signed up to updates from Yeasayer. You can hear the track by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.

Late last year, the band spoke about ‘Fragrant World’ and said that it is shaping up to be “like a demented R&B record”. Multi-instrumentalist Chris Keating said of it: “It’s like an Aaliyah album if you played it backwards and slowed it down. Or David Bowie’s ‘Lodger’. Those two are major influences.”

Yeasayer will return to the UK in July to play Latitude Festival.

(ANSA) – LONDRA, 22 MAG – Mai piu’ un album con Art Garfunkel. Paul Simon ha detto alla Bbc che non tornera’ piu’ in sala di registrazione con il suo compagno di tante avventure musicali perche’ non vuole ”piu’ rivisitare il passato”.

Simon, che 25 anni fa ha inciso il suo album da solo Graceland, ha detto al programma radiofonico Today che preferisce ”andare avanti tranquillamente a fare nuova musica”.

ps forse Ansa non ricorda che fino a poco tempo fa Art Garfunkel ha avuto problemi di salute , proprio con le corde vocali e questo mi sembra un particolare non di poco conto!

Antony and the Johnsons: in arrivo ad agosto il nuovo disco “Cut The World”
Antony Hegarty ha annunciato l’uscita, prevista per il 6 agosto, di un suo nuovo lavoro registrato a Copenhagen con la Danish National Chamber Orchestra. “Cut The World” lo vedrà riproporre alcune canzoni dei suoi quattro album precedenti in una nuova chiave sinfonica; gli arrangiamenti sono a cura di Nico Muhly, Rob Moose, Maxim Moston e dello stesso Antony. La title track è una canzone composta per lo spettacolo teatrale “The Life And Death Of Marina Abramovic” diretto da Robert Wilson.

E’ tutto pronto per l’Eurovision Song Contest, in programma stasera, giovedì e sabato a Baku, in Azerbaijan, paese vincitore dell’edizione 2011 che si è svolta a Dusseldorf davanti a 70 milioni di telespettatori.

In attesa di sapere quali sono le altre nazioni che, al termine delle due semifinali, si uniranno alle sei che passano di diritto alla finale, nelle scommesse si piazza in ottima posizione la candidata italiana Nina Zilli, che il bookmaker inglese Stanleybet quota a 8.00. Il vincitore sarà deciso per il 50% dalle giurie nazionali dislocate nei 42 paesi in gara e per il 50% dai telespettatori da casa con il televoto.

Con il suo sound retro e spiccatamente vintage, Nina ha tutte le carte in regola per puntare alla vittoria. Ma la Amy Winehouse nostrana, che presenterà “L’amore è femmina”, dovrà vedersela con la superfavorita della vigilia Loreen, in gara per la Svezia nonostante le sue origini berbere- marocchine. Arrivata quarta a Pop Idol, la sua canzone “Euphoria” è stata un grande successo nelle classifiche scandinave.

A Eurovision – la prima semifinale andrà in onda questa sera, in prima serata, su Rai5, la finale su Rai2 sabato 26 maggio alle 21 – ci sono anche il fenomeno russo delle “nonne di Buranovo”, Buranovskiye Babushki, e il 75enne Engelbert Humperdinck, inglese di origine indiana. Arriva direttamente dalla Danimarca la bella Soluna Samay mentre tra le favorite c’è la rappresentante spagnola, Pastora Soler. Sarà poi l’indonesiana Anguun, molto nota in Italia negli anni Ottanta, a rappresentare quest’anno la Francia. E se la Germania è in lizza il giovanissimo Roman Lob, l’Irlanda gareggia con i Jedward, composto dai gemelli John e Edward: la loro “Waterline” è entrata nelle classifiche di diversi Paesi europei.

Per l’Islanda canterà il duo Greta Salome & Jonsi, per la Grecia Eleftheria Eleftheriou e per Cipro Ivi Adamou, che nel 2009-2010 ha preso parte a “X Factor Grecia”. Tra i favoriti, il padrone di casa, l’Azerbaijan, con Sabina Babayeva; l’Estonia con Ott Lepland e la Romania con Mandinga, che canterà “Zaleilah”, brano in spagnolo che potrebbe anche diventare un tormentone estivo sulla scia di “Danza Kuduro”.
