Stevie Wonder and Damon Albarn are among those set to play 2014’s Montreux Jazz Festival, reports the Telegraph.
Wonder will headline the festival, which is taking place for the 48th time between July 4-19 on the shores of Lake Geneva. Elsewhere on the line-up, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Massive Attack and Herbie Hancock are all slated to appear.
Festival organisers have described the booking of Wonder as amongst the “most cherished dreams” of its founder, “Funky” Claude Nobs, who passed away after being involved in a skiing accident in January 2013.
Late last year, Bobby Womack revealed his next album will feature collaborations with Wonder, alongside the likes of Snoop Dogg and Rod Stewart. “I have a lot of songs where you hear Stevie Wonder singing the song and you hear me on the same song, so you really get the style, because I think that’s important,” said the soul singer. “You don’t get that style anymore. Like Sam Cooke and Ray Charles.”
