Cat Power has confirmed that her European tour will go ahead as planned.
The ‘Cherokee’ singer had cast doubt over whether she would honour her European tour commitments earlier this week, citing bankruptcy and poor health for reasons of a possible cancellation.
However, Power – real name Chan Marshall – has today (November 1) posted a message to fans on Twitter confirming that the tour will not be cancelled, but revealed that it may be a less elaborate stage show.

The singer included an Instagram photo in her tweet, taken from one of her North American dates, of a Gorilla projection on stage. According to the tweet, the visual effect will be one of the victims of her thrifty plans for the European leg of the tour.
Power is due to come to the UK for a one-off show later this year at London’s Roundhouse on December 12. It will be her first UK gig in over four years. The show is part of a full European run of shows that also includes gigs in Amsterdam, Koln, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Milan, Bologna, Zurich, Paris and Brussels.
